The late Millennial to early Gen Z cohorts are expressing optimism about their financial futures, yet they face a lack of strong guidance and resources outside of socialization. Higher education does not prioritize the fundamentals of financial planning, tax advice, or insurance literacy. There is no AARP equivalent for young adults. This shortage in our society becomes even more problematic when one considers the rising levels of student loan and credit card debt, or the fact that increasing majorities of twenty-somethings remain financially dependent on family for basic living expenses. Our conversation will cover this educational shortcoming, and clear up the key goals, strategies, and misunderstandings to know about for getting young adults’ financial health on track.
